About Mr. G
Certification(s):
I have Mississippi Class AA (Master's Level) Endorsements in Music (K-12), Psychology (7-12), and Social Studies (7-12).
Education:
Associate of Arts in Music Education - Northwest Mississippi Community College '10
Bachelor of Arts in Music - University of Mississippi '17
Master of Music in Music Education and Music Theory - University of Mississippi '21
SES Choirs:
Students in 4th and 5th grade are welcome to audition for the SES Choirs. Membership in the choir is by audition only. In addition to the audition results, every student’s grades and behavior will also be a factor in determining choir membership. Students who were already in the choirs last school year do not have to audition again, but students who were kicked out of the choir(s) (or quit) last school year must re-audition to get back into the choirs. There are two choirs – the General 4th and 5th Grade Choir, and the Chamber Choir. Advanced students will be placed into Chamber Choir, and will be responsible for more rehearsals, more performances, and learning harder music. Chamber Choir students are required to also be part of the General Choir.
Upcoming SES Choir Important Dates:
May 7, 5:30 PM, SES Cafeteria: SES Chamber Choir Spring Concert
Grade Level Programs:
For Grades K-3, grade level programs will begin this year to give these younger students an opportunity to perform. Unlike the choirs, there is no audition for these programs, and all students in the grade level are welcome to perform as long as grades and behavior are acceptable. No additional rehearsals will be required, as the material to be performed in these programs will simply be rehearsed during general music time. Soloists, if any, will be required to audition.
Upcoming Grade Level Programs:
April 25, 5:30 PM, SES Cafeteria: 1st Grade Program
May, TBA: Kindergarten Graduation and Music Program
