Our staff at Southaven Elementary will work alongside you to provide a safe and positive learning environment as we work toward a growth mindset & will work hard to provide an educational experience that will focus on academic, social, and emotional growth.

Our mission is to develop lifelong learners in an environment that promotes academic excellence. We believe to accomplish this mission, we must be focused on creating and cultivating positive relationships with students, parents, and the community of Southaven.

Our expectations will be high as we continue “Charging Forward”!

Close up of Renee Borden

Renee Borden, Asst. Principal

I am very proud to serve as the assistant principal at Southaven Elementary. The 2022-23 will begin my 8th year at this extraordinary school.

My educational background includes a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi, Master’s of Education from Union University, and a Master’s of Leadership and Supervision from the University of Arkansas. I am also a National Board-Certified Teacher and a Recipient of the Milken Educator Award.

My passion is developing positive relationships with everyone within the community, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so they can reach their greatest potential, strengthening a connection between school and home, and fostering a positive school culture. We know the home to school partnership is critical to supporting student growth. This collaboration supports our efforts in providing an invaluable school experience for all students. I look forward to meeting each of you and learning how I can best support you throughout this year.
