About Homework
Due Date: 8/11/2013
Subject: 2nd Grade

In Second Grade, students receive their homework on Monday and must return by Thursday. It consists of 3 worksheets (a Math, Reading Comprehension, and Language worksheet).  The homework is checked on Thursday and returned to the student only if corrections need to be made.  The student must bring back the corrected homework the next day (Friday) in order to receive full homework credit.

*Beginning Monday, August 22, students must also read and complete a weekly Reading Log.  Students must read for at least 20 minutes 4 nights each week.  (It can be any four days out of the seven day week.  Any book, magazine, newspaper, online book, etc. can be read.) The Reading Log will always be in a protective plastic sheet in the "Take Home" Folder with the weekly due date listed on it.  Students will write down "what they read" and "what day" it was read.  Parents will sign each day that their student read to them.  The Reading Log MUST be completed each week and will be checked the following Monday of each week.  The R.A.H. (Reading at Home Program) is very important to help improve the student's reading fluency and comprehension.  Students must be at least a "M" Reading Level in order to be promoted to third grade.
