Class Dojo
Other Class Info Image for Class Dojo

This year, our class will be using a new classroom management tool called ClassDojo. ClassDojo is a web based program which allows teachers to track students’ behaviors (positive AND negative) easily and efficiently. The program is based on points, and students can be given positive points for things like being on task, being respectful, participating, or working hard. On the other hand, points can be taken away if students are off task, talking out, or not having correct hallway behavior.

After students have been added to the system, there is a student access code we will give to each student so that they can log on to the website. On the site, they are able to see how many points they have, which positive behaviors were noted, and which negative behaviors they need to work on. Throughout the year students will be able to “cash in” on their points for different prizes and coupons.

One of the greatest features of ClassDojo is that it allows us to send parents a “behavior and skills report” every Friday by e-mail.  All you need to do is use the parent access code to get signed up. Our hope is that this will help you better understand the progress of your student’s behavior on a week-to-week basis.

Parents will also see their child’s daily behavior on the daily behavior sheet that will go home each night in the 3 ring binder. Please sign and return this sheet EVERYDAY.

Please contact me if you have any questions!

Class Info

Your child will bring home a folder every night. In this folder they will have a zippered pouch. Please put any money your child brings to school in this pouch with a note saying what it is for (ex snack money $1 or lunch money $5). If money is not labeled, it will be put into your child’s lunch account. The folder will also have a monthly calendar to list any tests, events, or holidays coming up. Please put all notes in the front pocket labeled “Return to School”. In this folder you will also find your child’s homework. Please work with your child each night to complete his or her homework.  Your child’s daily conduct log will also be in a sheet protector in the binder. Please sign and return this every day. This year we will be utilizing ClassDoJo to help keep up with our conduct in the classroom. You will also find helpful tips to help your child grow in their learning and any usernames for websites we use in the classroom.
