In 1995, I received my Bachelor's of Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Ok.  In 2002, I graduated from Oklahoma State University with my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  In 2004, I became a National Board Certified Teacher in Middle Generalist Childhood. In 2013, I renewed my National Board Certification for another ten years. 


I have taught elementary aged children for the past 18 years in Tulsa, OK.  I am currently working as a facilitator for teachers in Oklahoma, and Louisiana for A+ Schools.  A+ teaches teachers how to integrate the arts across the curriculum. This will begin my second year at SIS. Twenty one years of doing what I love, empowering kids, building positive relationships, and facilitating knowledge in kids helping them become life long learners.  


I am an Oklahoma Native, who is loving her new state of Mississippi.  I have taught elementary, 1st - 5th for the past twenty one years.  I am currently teaching ELA 5th Grade at SES.  I am passionate about the arts integrated within the curriculum.  I love being a teacher!  It is what I am called to do.  I love reading and finding books that interest children.

I have been married to Mr. Potts for 20 years, we have three awesome and very funny kids.  Two boys, ages 15 and 10, and one pretty princess, age 5.  We are a sports family. ESPN is always on at our house. We love watching our boys play soccer and baseball.  Our daughter in into ballet, tap, tumbling and cheer.  Being a mom and wife is also one of my favorite jobs.  I also enjoy reading, crafting, photography, and everything OKLAHOMA SOONERS and Dallas Cowboys! OU football is a huge part of our family.
